What does ‘Aging Out Loud’ mean?

According to the Administration on Aging (AoA), to Age Out Loud means "having the freedom to live with dignity, choice, and opportunities."

Since 1963, Older Americans Month has celebrated the nation’s older citizens each May. Every year, the AoA and the Administration for Community Living (ACL) lead the nation’s celebration of Older Americans Month (OAM). Both work every day to promote the well-being of older adults by supporting and advocating for them through programs and services made possible by the Older Americans Act (OAA).

This year the ACL chose the theme “Age Out Loud,” to give aging a new voice—one that reflects what today’s older adults have to say.
