Partners Ellen S. Morris, Esq., Howard S. Krooks, Esq., and the Elder Law Associates staff spent a rewarding day volunteering at Junior Achievement of South Florida's JA Finance Park in Coconut Creek, Fla. The team assisted local 8th graders as they learned about managing their finances with real-world-inspired, hands-on experience, including creating a budget, living within their means, using credit and spending wisely. It was not only an inspiring day to be among such bright and enthusiastic students but a wonderful bonding experience for the staff. Elder Law Associates PA partners volunteer at JA Finance Park

JA provides real-world training and education to young people about financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness. It is their mission to inspire
and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. JA of South Florida has more than 7,000 dedicated volunteers who enrich the lives of more than
50,000 students in Broward and south Palm Beach counties. The partners and staff at Elder Law Associates have been volunteering at JA for the last seven years.

At the Patten Family Foundation JA Finance Park, students learn about how financial decisions will impact their lives. These include expenses related to family healthcare, real estate and home improvements, automobiles, insurance, entertainment, education and purchasing items such as groceries, clothing and furniture. Prior to visiting JA Finance Park, the students engage in a comprehensive classroom curriculum that teaches them about finances, careers, income, expenses, savings and credit. This program helps students recognize that their education decisions affect their career options and have an impact on their potential income and quality of life. At the end of the classroom instruction, students visit JA Finance Park and put what they learned into action by managing a real-world-inspired personal budget based on local careers in a simulated city. The students are guided by trained volunteers, such as the staff at Elder Law Associates.
